In the movie “Waht the Bleep do we know” the following seen clearly refers to the magic circle.
The main character is walking on the street, when a basketball rolls in front of her feet, a small kid, the owner of the ball asks (challenges) her to throw the ball, when she makes a gesture to do so, the kids tells her not to throw from outside, but invites her to step inside the playfield as the rules subscribe. When she moves inside the field, the young kid says: “welcome to the world of unlimited opportunaties” – the magic circle of play.
